a-england Princess Sabra, from The Legend collection

Princess Sabra fue mi color preferido desde que vi los avances de la colección, así que fue fácil elegir por cuál empezar. 

Su "segundo nombre" es Tristam Eyes, en honor al gato de Adina, la creadora de la marca. Y realmente este esmalte tiene un juego de colores que recuerda a los ojos de algunos gatos, esa mezcla de amarillentos y verdosos. 

Princess sabra was my favourite since I saw the first pictures of the collection, so it was easy to chose it as my first complete mani. His "second name" is Tristam Eyes, in honour of Adina´s cat. And it really has this play of colors that reminds of cat´s eyes. Something that fluctuates between yellow and green. 

El color es hermoso, dorado, verdoso, bronce. Y súper holográfico. En las fotos traté de reflejar el efecto, que en persona es simplemente hipnótico. Hay muchas fotos y fue dificilísimo elegir, hubiese puesto veinte!! Ya saben que pueden clickear las imágenes para verlas más grandes, se los recomiendo especialemente para este esmalte. 

The color is beautiful, gold, green, bronze, with a strong holographic effect. I tried to capture that in my photos, in person is simply hypnotic. It was very difficult to chose from all my pictures, so I picked a lot! You know you can click the images to enlarge them, I recommend you to do it especially with this polish.

Hoy llegó mi esperado pedido de esmaltes a-england de la colección The Legend. Son siete esmaltes en total y yo pedí cinco!
Después voy a publicar con más detalle cada esmalte, la historia que los inspira, etc, ahora no tenía mucho tiempo, pero quería mostrarles un adelanto! Y son holográficos! Yeah!

NOTD: Kiko 246 + Nubar 2010 = Crazy flakies!

Un post cortito para mostrarles las uñas del día. Kiko 246 es un violeta/bordeaux con microglitter holográfico de una calidad sorprendente, cubre perfecto en una capa, una fórmula impecable. Lo pagué 1€50 y eso le suma muchos puntos. Solo es muy lindo, pero le agregué encima una capa de mi amado Nubar 2010, flakies tornasolados y sin duda mi "efecto" preferido.
Just a quick post to show you my NOTD, today I´m wearing Kiko 246, a purple with holographic microglitter. I was surprised again by the quaity of this Kiko polishes, just one coat, perfect coverage. It was 1€50, so it was a great deal. It´s beautiful alone, but I layered it with one coat of nubar 2010, I just can´t resist flakies, they are my favourite "effect".

Acá no se ve tanto el efecto del Nubar 2010, un poquito en los costados, pero el color de base salió bastante  bien.. Es un poco más azulado, no tan rojo.  Pero vean la próxima...

Here you can´t see much of the flakies, but the color is more accurate. It wanted to photograph red. It´s a little bluer than this.  Now, see the next one... 

Dior Waterlily and Chanel June dupes??

Hola! bueno acá después de algunos días, no encontré un minuto para sentarme y tengo las uñas multicolores desde ayer jaja ahora van a ver las fotos.
Hello! Well I´m here after a couple of days, I couldn´t find a minute to sit and write and I have the nails in different colors! (you´ll see in the pictures)

Las que leyeron el post anterior (este), vieron que estoy en mi disyuntiva esmalteril deluxe jaja. Con un cupón de reducción voy a comprar mi primer Chanel, pero CUAL?? Bueno esto ameritó una visita al negocio y ya que estamos, a probar los esmaltes. Probé June de Chanel, de la coleccion Harmonie de Printemps (Armonia de primavera), que es una de mis opciones de compra. Es un color anaranjado clarito, "damazco" como lo define Chanel. 
I f you read my previous post (this one), you saw that I have an existential polish dilemma: I´m planning to buy my first Chanel, but I can´t decide which one! So I had to go to the store and try some polishes. Y tried Chanel June, from Harmonie de Printemps Collection , which is one of my options. Is a light orange, "apricot" as Chanel defines it. 
Después pasé por el counter de Dior y me volví a probar Waterlily, de la colección Garden Party. Es un verde mint con shimmer plateado y perfumado a rosas. El otro color, Forget me not, es un violeta cremoso que no me había gustado demasiado, en realidad no me había parecido nada único.
Then I went to the Dior counter and tried Waterlily, from Garden Party collection. It´s a mint green with silver shimmer and with a rose scent. The other color of the collection, Forget Me Not is a violet creme that didn´t looked very special. (to me)


Así con mis dos dedos pintados la siguiente escala fue el drugstore a la busqueda de clones... y ahora les muestro lo que encontré!

Nubar Classic Camel

El esmalte de hoy es mi primer Nubar, en un color clásico de los clásicos, se llama (valga la redundancia) Classic Camel. Y no hay nada más para explicar, es eso, un color camel cremoso y cubritivo. Lo que tiene este esmalte de especial es la perfección de la fórmula. Es lo que cualquier esmalte cremoso querría ser: la aplicación es perfecta, suave, cubritivo en una sola capa (gruesa) aunque yo prefiero dos finas (así dura más el esmalte sin saltarse). Nubar es una marca americana, hipoalergénica (B3F) y no testeada en animales.
Today´s polish is my first Nubar (I don´t count Nubar 2010),th color is a classic of the classics, of course it´s called "Classic Camel" haha. Well there´s not much to explain, it´s that, a classic camel, creamy and opaque. What is special about it, it´s the formula: PERFECTION! Application is smooth, opaque in one thick coat (Iprefer two thin coats). Also Nubar is B3F and cruelty free. 

Me parece el color perfecto para las que tienen un trabajo más formal o para "descansar" un poco de los colores locos. Yo, aunque no tengo ninguna restricción en cuanto a colores (sólo de mi marido que no le gusta ningún color jaja), uso siempre estos colores nude. Me gusta el look "limpio" que les da a las manos y además siento que los colores oscuros me avejentan los dedos. Cada loco con su tema!!
I think it´s the perfect "work appropiate"  color, or for restingt a little from brighter polishes. Even if I don´t have a job restriction (only my husband that hates all colors in nails LOL), I use nudes all the time. I like the clean look they give and also I find that darker colors make my hands look older (yes I know I´m crazy haha)

A pesar de estar dentro de mi "zona de confort" en cuanto a colores, otra de mis obsesiones son los esmaltes translúcidos, que uso en mil capas hasta dejarlos opacos. Entonces este Classic Camel, al ser cremoso y opaco, me chocó un poco.
Pero ahora que lo uso por segunda vez, ya lo siento 100% mío!
Even if the color was in my "comfort zone", my other obsession are sheer polishes, that I use in thousands of coats until achieving opacity. So Classic Camel, being creme and opaque, was a little "weird". But now that I used it twice, it´s definitely "me"!!

Luz natural, 2 capas de esmalte, una de top coat Shiney de CND. Un color que no falla, no me imagino ningun color de piel al que no le vaya, ninguna ocasión en la que no pueda usarse. !00% nude. 

Natural light (no sun here sorry), two coats and CND Shiney as top coat. This color is so safe, I think it will be ok for a lot of skin tones and in all occasions. 100% nude.

Kiko 342 Sea Green

Hoy tengo para mostrarles un esmalte Kiko, que es una marca Europea de maquillaje. Los productos son baratos pero buenos (y con lindo packaging!). Además de los esmaltes, probé dos labiales que me gustaron mucho. 

Today I have for you a Kiko nail polish. kiko is an European brand with good products and low prices (and nice packaging too!). I also have two of their lipsticks and I like them a lot. 

El otro día en liquidación compré varios, entre ellos este color azul-verdoso. En la botellita sólo tiene un número, pero en la página web vi que se llama Sea Green. 

El color me gustó mucho aunque no es del estilo que uso generalmente. Me sorprendió (gratamente) que resultó ser muy cubritivo y de secado rápido. 

The other day I bought several polishes on sale, this teal among them. In the bottle you only have a number (342) but I went to their website and saw that is called "Sea Green". 

I liked the color very much, even if is not my usual pick. I was (happily) surprised by its coverage and fast drying time. And the pictures...

Luz natural, dos capas, sin top coat. Un color muy difícil de fotografiar, con la otra cámara salía siempre celeste. Es un poquito más oscuro de lo que se ve en las fotos. Natural light, two coats, no top coat. A color very difficult to capture, with my other camera turned always light blue. Is a  little darker in real life.

Claire´s pink, red & blue glitter

Ayer como les contaba, estuve en el shopping, aprovechando las súper liquidaciones de invierno. Ropa y zapatos ni miré, porque como pronto nos mudamos, no quiero sumar más peso a las cosas que tenemos que llevarnos. Pero unos esmaltes más siempre pueden entrar!! Además (siguiendo un consejo de mi marido), me parece interesante poder mostrarles algunas marcas que consigo en Europa.
Yesterday, as I told you before, I went to the mall (winter sales!). I didn´t look shoes or clothes, because I´m moving to US soon and I don´t want to add more weight to the luggages. But there´s always room for new polish! Besides (following my husband´s advice) I think is a good idea to show you some brands that I can buy in Europe.

Compré bastantes cosas, pero ahora les voy a mostrar un esmalte de Claire´s, que es un local tipo "Todo Moda" lleno de pavadas y accesorios.
El nombre se los debo, no encuentro ni un número en la botellita. Tiene glitter hexagonal rojo, azul y rosa y micro glitter plateado en una base transparente. Aunque se puede usar solo, no es de los que puedan quedar opacos. Me parece mejor para usar sobre otro esmalte. Y justo tenía puesto Iseult, que me parece una buena combinación.
I bought severl things, but now I´m going to show you a polish from Claire´s. I don´t know the name, I couldn´t find it in the bottle, not even a number. It has blue, red and pink hexagonal glitter, silver microglitter in a clear base. I think it´s not meant for wearing alone, and since I had Iseult on my nails, I decided to layer it with this glitter.

a-england Iseult, swatches & review

Ayer llegó mi primer esmalte a-england. Estaba ansiosa por probarlo, porque había leído muy buenas críticas y las fotos del color que había elegido parecían muy buenas. Es la primera marca "de autor" que compro, así que más expectativa todavía!!

Yesterday my first a-england polish arrived! I was really anxious because I had read great reviews and the swatches from the color I had bought looked great. Is the first "author" brand I buy, so that added a little more anticipation!

Básicamente es una marca inglesa creada por Adina Bodana, que combina excelentes colores con tradición. Cada esmalte de su primera colección, The Mythicals, tiene un nombre relacionado con la leyenda del Rey Arturo. En su página hay una sección de glosario donde cuenta un poquito sobre cada personaje. 

Basically, is an English brand created by Adina Bodana, that combines excellent colors and tradition. Each polish from this collection (The Mythicals) is named by a caracther from the myth of King Arthur.  In their website there´s a glossary section where you can read a little more. 

El Esmalte que yo compré es Iseult ( Isolda), un "rosa claro y suave, con reflejos opalescentes".  A pesar de lo que podría parecer a primera vista, no es translúcido y es un color muy especial.

I bought Iseult, "a light soft soft pink with opalescent reflections". Despite what one can think before actually seeing it ("another pink"), is not sheer and is a very special color. 

En la foto de la botellita se ve que tiene shimmer plateado y el rosa es bien clarito y con tonos fríos. Bottle picture, it has silver shimmer, the pink is light and cool toned. 

Impala Army na mira 3D

Después de haber usado ayer el esmalte holográfico sobre negro, me acordé de que tengo un Impala que podría ser parecido: el na mira 3D de la colección Army. Este esmalte me lo mandó mi amiga María desde Argentina, junto a otros Impala que ya les voy a mostrar.
Na mira 3D es un esmalte con micro glitter holográfico en una base de negro translúcido.
Comparando los dos, se puede ver bien la diferencia que ayer trataba de explicar en cuanto a la terminación y efecto.
After swatching the holographic polish over black, I remembered I have a Impala nail polish (a Brazilian brand), that could be similar: na mira 3D from the Army collection. This polish was sent by María, my dear friend from Argentina, with more polishes from the same brand that I´ll will show you soon. 
Na mira 3D is a micro holographic glitter in a black jelly base. 
Comparing the two polishes, you can see the difference in effect and finish I was trying to explain yersterday 

3 manos de Impala en meñique e índice, en los otros en Catherine Arley sobre negro. El Impala tiene reflejos en la sombra. El reflejo es mucho mas rosado/violeta que el CA que se mantiene mas plateado. Luz natural (nublado). Impala 3 coats on pinkie and index, Catherine Arley on the rest. Natural light (cloudy). The impala has refflects in the shade, more purple/pink than the CA, which remains silver.

Después de pensar mucho cómo empezar la primer entrada de mi vida blogger, decidí elegir para compartir un esmalte que fue un antes y un después: mi primer holo.
Cuántas veces como lectoras de blogs admiramos y envidiamos esos esmaltes holográficos, generalmente de colecciones discontinuadas y de precios carisimos? Bueno yo hice mi estudio de mercado y encontré esta opción, la marca Catherine Arley y su colección de holográficos. Compré cuatro, ahora les muestro el que es el clásico plateado.
Me costó muchisimo podes capturar algo del efecto de arco iris que tiene, pero basta de introducción y a las fotos!!

 After a lot of thinking about how to start mi first entry of my blogger life, I decided to share a polish that marked a before and after in my "nails life":  my first holo! 
How many times, as blog readers, we admired and envied those holo polishes, usually from discontinued collections and with impossible price? Well, I did my research and found this option: Catherine Arley. I bought four and these are swatches of  the silver one. 
It was very difficut to capture some of the rainbow effect, but enough of talking! let´s see the pictures!
